Lighting the Way to a Sustainable Future with High-Quality, Native-Made Solar Heating Solutions

Our Products

For more than 10 years, we’ve worked on solar installations on the White Earth and Leech Lake reservations in northern Minnesota. In 2017, we purchased our own facility and partnered with our friends at the Rural Renewable Energy Alliance (RREAL) to manufacture their innovative solar thermal technology. In spring 2019 we officially launched 8th Fire Solar, building RREAL’s patent-pending solar thermal panels for homes and small businesses throughout North America.

What are solar thermal panels?

Like a car sitting in the sun, solar thermal panels efficiently turn sunlight into heat, creating a clean and renewable energy source for warming a home, garage, cabin, greenhouse or small business. Solar thermal air heating is an especially simple, cost-effective, efficient and clean alternative to the fuel oil or liquid propane that many rural communities must use.  Regardless of your heating fuel source, the panels will eventually pay for themselves by reducing your heating bill, and will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and our dependence on fossil fuels.

How do they work?

8th Fire Solar panels rely on the innovative solar furnace systems developed by RREAL.

Mounted on a building’s sough side, the panels collect the sun’s heat inside insulated black glass panels.  A thermostatically controlled fan blows the collected air heat into the house during the day and automatically closes the dampers to keep the cold out at night or when the sun isn’t shining. The state-of the-art Array Interconnect system creates airtight, seamless connections. Airflow design and modularity enable uniform air distribution, flexible installation, and maximum heat capture.

Our panels are the most efficient and economical high-performance solar air heating panels in the country! Go here for more details on the basics and benefits of solar air heat!

Could they work on my home or small business?

You will get the most out of your panels if they can be mounted on a south-facing wall away from tree cover. However, there are other factors that determine whether solar heating is right for you! Please see our resources or contact us for more information.

Will they save me money?

One solar air heater reduces your use of fossil fuels, and depending on the building’s efficiency and your heating habits, can save you up to 20-50% of your monthly heating cost for 20 years! And rest assured, 8th Fire Solar products are extremely durable and rigorously tested to perform in the coldest climates.

Is there tax credits or incentives?

Businesses are eligible for a 30% federal tax credit. This means that 30% of the cost of the installation will be deducted from your tax bill. If you can’t take the full credit in one year, it can be carried over to the next year. Other incentives are available throughout the country. Check the website for more information.

How do I do that?

Our team of trained professionals can work with you to determine whether solar thermal is a good fit for you. We can then refer you to our network of trained dealers, who will do a solar site assessment on your building to find the ideal location for the panels, and will manage the project from start-to-finish, making sure you get a quality, efficient and environmentally sustainable heating source for your building.

Do you offer a warranty?
